About Me
I trained at London Fine Art Studios developing a strong foundation in figurative painting and life drawing. I work primarily in oils, with a focus on landscape and still life.
My landscapes are painted en plein air, directly from observation, often beginning with compositional sketches and sometimes photographs. I draw inspiration from the ever changing qualities of light and sky, as well as the subtle rhythms and colour harmonies found in the natural world.
Still Life set ups allow me to play with the composition and draw attention to everyday objects around me. Through thoughtful placement and controlled lighting I enjoy building a dialogue or drama that elevates simple objects to subjects of interest.
I also undertake commissions including landscapes, personal memories and pet portraits, typically working from photographs.
Based in South West London, with a studio at Wimbledon Art Studios, I have exhibited in group shows at Wimbledon Studios, Leighton House, Kensington, Hurlingham Club, Fulham and at the Prince & Pilgrim Gallery, Kew.
